Notification of E-mail Scam- Jeep Country Federal Credit Union has learned of an e-mail scam where the email directs members to verify their ATM accounts.Please remember financial institutions will not request account holder information via e-mail or over the phone. NEVER give out your information when requested by an email or a non-initiated phone call.
Credit Union Counterfeit Check Scam ~ Jeep Country Federal Credit Union has learned that there is a lottery scam circulating counterfeit official checks that appear to be drawn on the credit union. The checks include the credit union name, address, and a toll-free number with which you can verify the check. These checks are counterfeit and are not issued by Jeep Country Federal Credit Union. The toll-free number listed on the face of the checks is fraudulent and is not affiliated with Jeep Country Federal Credit Union in any way.

The checks are received with a letter from OLGC Lottery, Resources Managemetn & Payment Verification stating that the recipient has won funds from the North American Sweepstakes Lottery. Recipients are asked to contact a claims agent before they attempt to use the check at which time they are directed to send money back to the company for the payment of taxes on their winnings.
As stated, this is a scam! These checks will be returned as counterfeit items to any financial institution that accepts them. The payee will have a legal obligation to pay back any funds they may have received.
You can report this fraud to a variety of authorities including your local police, your state Attorney General office, or the following agencies which all have online forms to complete to report fraud.
